Madeira – SPI publishes “Tourism Collection”

07 January 2011

In January, Funchal was the location for the launch of SPI’s set of training materials devoted to the topic of tourism.

The set contains six books on topics including: “Quality”, “Sustainability”, “Innovation”, “Marketing and Commercialization”, “The Holiday Property Market” and “Funding and Support”, with around 120 pages each, two videos and e-learning tools.

At the launch, which took place in the Hotel Meliã Madeira, the Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport, Conceição Estudante, the Regional Secretary for Education and Culture, Francisco Fernandes, and the President of the Board of SPI, Prof. Dr. Augusto Medina were present. These tools represent a pioneering action that emphasises the importance of this area of study.

In addition to this first presentation, the “Tourism Collection” will be presented to the rest of the country next month, at the BTL - International Tourism Exhibition, as revealed by the Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport. This project was financed by the European Social Fund, in the context of priority 1, of the program “Rumos”, and the information is freely accessible for use.
