SPI Ventures organizes business mission to Portugal for Spanish entrepreneurs

13 June 2012

A group of young entrepreneurs from the Andalucian region of Spain, were in Portugal during the last week of May, to visit business centres and incubators from the North and Centre of Portugal, in an initiative promoted by the Foundation “Andalucía Emprende” under the program Euroempleo, co-financianced by the European Union through the European Social Fund.

These visits, aimed at Andalucian entrepreneurs and companies will contribute to fostering professional mobility and exchange of experience, which in turn will promote competitiveness and business development, the transfer of know-how, innovation and an international spirit.

SPI Ventures, responsible for the organization of the two missions to Portugal, aims to raise awareness about new entrepreneurial projects that have been developed in Portugal, as well as promote the creation of synergies between the entrepreneurs and business cooperation between the regions.

The program of the first mission included visits to various companies, business centres and incubators, such as SANJOTEC – Business and Technology Centre for S. João da Madeira, IPN incubadora – incubator of the Instituto Pedro Nunes, SPINLOGIC – of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of the University of Oporto, and ESAD – Escola Superior de Artes e Design. On the last day of the visit, the participants were hosted by Sara Medina, Member of the Board of SPI Ventures, in a visit to the premises of SPI Porto, where they were informed about the company and its projects developed in the area of entrepreneurship and innovation.

The next mission will take place in June. Photographs of the visit to SPI can be found at:
