SPI embarking on a new endeavor in Colombia
21 January 2013
Following the various activities in Brazil, SPI was recently awarded a new project in Latin America “Plan for Science, Technology, and Innovation for the Development of the Water Sector in Colombia”, funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB).
In this project, SPI will be collaborating with two key organizations in the fields, Centro de Productividad de Tolima (Colombia), and Fundación Centro de las Nuevas Tecnologías del Agua (Spain).
Given the strategic importance of the water sector in Colombia, the elaboration of this Plan will strengthen the sector and ultimately increase its competitiveness in the country. Additionally, this project will lead to the development of social, institutional, business and technological alternatives that will generate more effective, cleaner and more sustainable use of the water resource.
This new project will build up on extensive experience of SPI in projects on Science, Technology, and Innovation in Latin America and will enlarge SPI´s network in the region.
