SPI participates in the "Human Smart Cities: The Future of Cities Today" Lisbon Conference

SPI participated in the "Human Smart Cities: The Future of Cities Today" Conference, held at the Urban Information Center in Lisbon on 13th March 2014.

The conference focused on four main themes: Human Smart City Policies: From Local to Global; Human Smart City: An Urban Innovation Ecosystem; Making Policy in the Human Smart City; and MyNeighbourhood: A Human Smart Cities Case a European Commission project in which SPI is a partner. The conference set a stage to discuss the future of the cities and how the vision of the Human Smart City can support the local development in urban ecosystems, by connecting technology, innovation and social factors. International experts, national politicians and partners of the European innovation projects that contributed to the creation of the Human Smart Cities vision and manifesto, participated in the different panels of the conference to share their perspectives and experiences regarding the implementation of such vision.

The conference was implemented as part of the Human Smart Cities Network. Membership of this network is open to cities from the entire world and is a platform to share knowledge and experiences about the role of people in building citizen-driven digital social innovation new city services for a sustainable society.
