SPI organized a European cluster matchmaking mission during the Mission for Growth Spain 2014
24 April 2014
From the 3rd to the 4th of April 2014, SPI organized a cluster matchmaking mission integrated in the “Mission for Growth” to Seville (Autonomous Community of Andalusia, Spain) and Merida (Autonomous Community of Extremadura, Spain).
This mission, supported by the DG Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission, is the first of five missions that will be organized under the scope of the European project “EU Matchmaking Missions for SME Internationalisation Through Clusters”, which is being conducted by a consortium led by SPI.
The event was attended by a EU Delegation composed of over 30 cluster participants from 10 different countries (Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Spain and Turkey), representing clusters and SMEs active in the fields of aerospace/aeronautics, agri-food, biotech and health, ICT, metal mechanical and renewable energy.
Overall, the EU Delegation conducted more than 100 meetings that resulted in the establishment of a first contact with other organisations, in the identification of cooperation opportunities, such as bilateral agreements and joint proposals for Horizon 2020 and COSME.
