Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação (SPI) has participated in the 2016 edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) Annual Event that took place in the Omni Parker House hotel in Boston, USA, between the 3rd and 7th of February.
The GEM Study is the largest ongoing study of entrepreneurship dynamics in the world and began in 1999 as a joint project between Babson College (USA) and London Business School (UK). The aim of the study was to consider why some countries are more 'entrepreneurial' than others. GEM is now the richest resource of information on the subject, publishing a range of global, national and “special topic” reports on an annual basis. SPI provides the GEM study in both Portugal (which has been ongoing since 2001) and Angola. The studies of GEM Portugal and GEM Angola throughout the years are available here.
The event was leaded by Babson College, and counted with more than 70 participants from the 60 participant countries. The event counted with a teaching seminar in Babson College, the global launch of the 2016 Global Report (available at http://www.gemconsortium.org/report) and an exchange of best practices among the participants.
