SPI organizes event on European Union-Brazil cooperation on Research and Innovation

The event entitled Innovation Horizons for European Union and Brazil – Opportunities and challenges for investment and funding – will take place on Friday, 18th of March 2016 at the Rectory Auditorium of the University of Porto, in the context of the launching of INCOBRA project.

INCOBRA - Increasing International Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation between Brazil and the European Union – is a coordination and support action recently awarded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Programme (Grant Agreement nº 692520) and coordinated by SPI

INCOBRA aims to enhance, focus and increase cooperation in research and innovation between the EU and Brazil. Among other activities, INCOBRA will deliver Strategic R&I Cooperation Action Plans in priority fields such as agro-food, nanotechnology, energy and ICT; support Bilateral R&I Cooperation Networks and structure a Funding Agencies Platform.

The project implementation is supported by a partnership comprising of 13 European and Brazilian organizations, including the European Business Innovation Centre Network, the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation, Fraunhofer ISI, the Brazilian National Innovation Agency and the Research Support Agency of the State of São Paulo.

The Opening Event aims to officially launch the INCOBRA activities, proposing a forum focused on innovation funding and investment in the framework of EU-Brazil cooperation. The event will have wide participation of research and scientific communities as well as civil society representatives and high level diplomatic representatives from partner countries.
