Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação (SPI) participated in an event on 5th April 2016 at the Salão Nobre da Reitoria do Porto for the project “TEJ – Towards a university Enterprise alliance in Jordan”.
The project is aimed at stimulating the development of Jordanian university enterprise cooperation culture, by promoting good practice for implementing university based enterprise liaison offices in eight Jordanian Universities - promoting coherent information and communication strategies among the Universities’ communities and within the local business environment, as well as providing strategic inputs for the creation of long-term partnerships and collaborative research with enterprises.
SPI’s representative provided a presentation and led a discussion on the possibilities of collaboration under the European Commission Horizon 2020 programme – focusing on the position of Jordan and best practice in how to turn ideas into funded projects. The SPI representative then widened the debate to discuss entrepreneurship, using the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) as an example – for which SPI provides the Portugal and Angola analysis – to explain the key framework conditions that can be used to drive the impact of entrepreneurship in a country.
