The Africa-Europe Innovation Platform (AEIP) is inviting innovators from across Africa and Europe to participate in the Thematic Challenges, a programme designed to co-create practical solutions to shared societal challenges.
About the Challenges
The programme brings together mixed, cross-regional teams to develop scalable solutions for predefined problem statements. The first challenge focuses on the Green Transition, covering areas such as:
- Renewable energy
- Energy efficiency
- Circular economy
- Sustainable agri-food systems
Who Can Participate
The Thematic Challenges are open to innovators from Africa or Europe, including:
- Startups and SMEs
- Researchers and students
- Corporates and policy-makers
- Civil-society actors
Special encouragement is given to women and youth innovators.
How to Participate
Expressions of interest are open until 21 January 2026. Selected participants will:
- Collaborate in cross-regional teams
- Receive tailored support and mentorship
- Have the opportunity to present their work at the 2026 AEIP Stakeholder Meeting in Africa
