Entrepreneurship and innovation to accelerate the SDGs

Under the EU-funded project ENRICH in Africa, SPI is organising a series of conferences on entrepreneurship and innovation to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

The first session of the series, held last week, was dedicated to cross-continental and cross-sector partnerships, bearing in mind SDG 17 – Partnerships for the goals.

The speakers were Nelson Ijumba (Coventry University – Africa Hub), Alice Abagre (Footprints Africa) and Joanna Bingham (African Circular Economy Network- Ghana Chapter. The debate was moderated by Catarina Milhazes (SPI).

Until the end of the project, the series’ sessions will be held every three months. Topics for debate include innovation and entrepreneurship driven by needs, financing SDG-driven entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship led by youth and fairer business models.
