On the 7th and 8th of September, PoliRural consortium has gathered in Agriculture University of Athens (Greece) to conduct the project final meeting
The meeting focused on the presentation and discussion of project final results and overall impact, including a WP status update. SPI – Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação is responsible for the Work Package (WP) 7 of the project, which corresponds to communication, dissemination, exploitation and building synergies.
PoliRural is a research project funded by the European Commission (H2020) aiming at understanding how rural areas can attract more people for living, work & investment. PoliRural is providing new knowledge by combining several key activities needed to design effective place-based, human-centric and forward-looking rural policies.
These include actionable research that takes place within an inclusive learning environment where rural populations, researchers and policymakers come together to address common problems; an evaluation exercise that uses text mining to assess the perceived effectiveness of past or planned policy interventions; and a foresight study that gleans the development trajectory of agriculture and its allied sectors until 2040 using several scenarios in which the evolution of rural populations occupies a central place.
