One day, a dear friend who runs a travel agency for disabled travelers called me and was desperately asking me if I could recommend someone to hire him as an escort for a blind tourist, who could be with him for a few hours every day throughout his holiday. My instinct reaction was to help a friend in need and recommend a person, but then I thought to myself, what a huge responsibility this is! What if, during this service, an accident happens or medical assistance is required, or false information is given that would cause damage? It would not have been very responsible of me to recommend anyone after all. However, this event has encouraged me to contribute to providing a safer travel experience for disabled travelers and that is how the Erasmus+ project FAST (Facilitating Accessibility in Support of Tourism”) was conceptualized.”
