SPI attended the PERISCOPE Final Conference in Brussels, Belgium
Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação (SPI) proudly took part in the highly anticipated PERISCOPE Final Conference, a pivotal event held on September 8th at the prestigious Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels. SPI’s invaluable contribution to the event was highlighted as it played a pivotal role in organising this significant gathering.
PERISCOPE, a Research and Innovation Actions project, was generously funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Programme (Grant Agreement number 101016233). Commencing on November 1st, 2020, and scheduled to conclude on October 31, 2023, this project, led by the University of Pavia, united 32 European institutions in a collaborative effort. Their mission was to delve into the extensive socio-economic and behavioural repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and to formulate strategies to enhance Europe’s resilience and preparedness for future large-scale crises.
The PERISCOPE Final Conference marked a critical juncture in the project’s timeline, offering a platform to reflect on nearly three years of diligent research. Participants had the opportunity to exchange valuable insights and present the project’s policy recommendations. The conference’s agenda encompassed pivotal topics related to the COVID-19 pandemic, including mental health, behavioural science, digitalization, public health, and artificial intelligence. It effectively bridged the gap between researchers, policymakers, and representatives from medical institutions, fostering interdisciplinary discussions.
SPI’s impressive representation at the event was led by consultants Andréia Santos and Diana Sousa, demonstrating the organisation’s commitment to the project’s success. Notably, SPI assumed the role of leader for WP14 – Outreach & Dissemination, overseeing the development of the project’s identity and the implementation of a comprehensive dissemination, communication, and exploitation strategy, in addition to a sustainability strategy plan.
