From December 10-12, 2024, Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação (SPI) participated in the MONTEVITIS project meeting, workshop, and thematic seminar held across Portugal at UTAD in Vila Real, Quinta da Pacheca in Lamego, and Quinta do Bonfim in Pinhão. Representing SPI at all sessions were Ricardo Oliveira and Valeriia Hudz.
As part of the MONTEVITIS project, SPI is responsible for leading communication, dissemination, and exploitation activities while supporting UDG in enhancing its administration and research management capacity under Work Packages 4 and 5.
Held at UTAD, the Project Meeting reviewed the progress of work packages and outlined future steps. SPI presented updates on WP4 and contributed to discussions on advancing scientific collaboration.
The workshop “ Precision Viticulture in European Vineyards as a Tool for Climate Change Adaptation” included presentations on the VineAdapt2Climate and MONTEVITIS projects, case studies from Symington and Esporão, and a visit to Quinta do Bonfim to observe precision viticulture practices in action.
The Thematic Seminar “Perspectives for Climate-Smart Viticulture in Europe” showcased cutting-edge research in viticulture, covering topics like UAV-based image analysis and climate adaptation strategies. The event concluded with a discussion on fostering future collaboration.
MONTEVITIS, a 3-year Horizon Europe project funded by the EU, fosters collaboration between Western Balkan and EU research institutes to advance precision viticulture and climate change adaptation.
