Dr. Sara Medina, in representation of Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação (SPI), travelled to Cape Town between the 2nd and 8th of December to participate in the Cape Town VC Unconference and the AfricArena Cape Town Grand Summit 2023 events. The participation in these events was on the scope of the ENRICH in Africa Center, which was created as a direct result of the ENRICH in Africa project funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme. Its mission is to strengthen the EU-Africa tech and innovation ecosystems, supporting innovators collaboration, and connecting incubators and accelerators, investors, corporates and policymakers to enable positive social impact and green business.
The first event of the week was “Cape Town VC Unconference”, hosted at the Franschhoek Hotel between the 2nd and 4th of December. It brought together investors, corporates and ecosystem builders, and enabled connections and dynamic exchanges between them.
Notwithstanding, the main event of the week was the “AfricArena Cape Town Grand Summit 2023”, an event that took place at the Cape Town International Convention. There, Dr. Medina shared relevant insights as she took part in the panel discussion “Why Should We Be More Intentional In Investing in Women in Tech”.
