On November 7, 2025, the Zhongguancun Global High-Level Think Tank Alliance held its organizational transition conference in Beijing, with Ted CAO, Chief Representative of SPI China Representative Office, attending as a representative of the newly-added member unit.
Co-hosted by the Alliance and the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, the event aimed to strengthen cohesion, map out future development, and advance international think tank cooperation. SPI was among 12 international institutions, research institutes and key enterprises formally admitted as governing units.
This accession marks a key step for SPI in building a high-end sci-tech think tank. It will facilitate SPI’s integration into China’s national think tank network, deepen exchanges with global peers, and boost regional sci-tech innovation and industrial collaboration.
Founded in 2020, the Alliance upholds the mission of “Gathering Global Wisdom · Serving Innovative Development”. It now covers 19 countries with over 100 member think tanks, delivering high-quality research through global intellectual resource integration and open cooperation.
