SPI participated in the 4th Summer School of the FOSTER project in Stuttgart on April 13-16! Forty-five participants took part in the event, including academic and knowledge partners, change-driven initiatives and expert panel members of the project.
The vision of FOSTER is to build a foundation from which a new Knowledge and Innovation (K&I) governance structure for Europe’s food system can emerge. This new structure is needed because the current K&I system in the European Research Area (ERA) is insufficient to address the emerging challenges of nourishing Europe in a healthy, affordable and sustainable way.
The event provided an opportunity to examine FOSTER’s food system transformation pathway, emphasising key insights and post-project directions. Particular attention was given to translating project outcomes into actionable policy messages to inform decision-making processes. Participants focused on refining these messages, assessing their practical applicability, and tailoring recommendations to policymakers.
SPI, represented by Taisiia Bondarenko, is in charge of communication, dissemination, and exploitation, and actively supports the advancement of FOSTER’s policy influence.
