SPI participated in the Kick-off Meeting of E-SPFDigit Project in Thessaloniki

SPI was pleased to take part in the Kick-off meeting of E-SPFDigit Project, held from 8th to 9th October. The project aims to develop and scale AI-driven digital tools for real-time, onsite monitoring of chemical contaminants in viticulture and horticulture. These technologies will address critical issues such as PFAS, pesticides, heavy metals, and soil nutrients, improving both soil and crop management in areas affected by contamination.

The project combines sensor technology, remote sensing robots, UAVs, and Earth Observation data with machine learning to enhance automated decision-making processes, ultimately advancing environmental sustainability and precision agriculture.

On behalf of SPI, Telmo Fernandes, Ivan Sá Vieira and Diogo Teles presented the Open Science and Innovation Actions session, as the lead partner of this work package.

We look forward to contributing to the successful implementation of this project and its potential to positively impact sustainable agricultural practices.
