SPI, as the leader of WP1, attended the Consortium Meeting, General Assembly, and Review Meeting held in Leipzig, Germany, between 12th and 15th December 2023. Besides the presentations and discussions on the general status of the project, the meeting included workshops and panel discussions on issues such as replication, upscaling, business models and exploitation plans, and also posters display regarding the interventions on the 2 lighthouse cites and the implementation plans on the 5 fellow cities. SPI, together with the partner EDP NEW, held a presentation on “PED solutions towards decarbonization of cities”, focusing on the relationships between the City Vision and the implementation of positive energy districts.
The city of Leipzig, a lighthouse city in the project, organized on-site visits to the replication district Konsumzentrale, where implemented solutions on PV installation, E-mobility, Energy Storage, Heating and Cooling Systems, and monitoring were presented. The participants also had the opportunity to visit the new H2-ready heating plant Leipzig-South, were the district heating and storage systems were explained to the visitors.
During the Review Meeting, the consortium partners presented the main challenges and outcomes from the project’s 3rd period and the outlooks for the final period. The meeting was attended by the European Commission’s project officer and reviewer, which, in turn, provided valuable comments and contributions.
