SPI presented in Luanda the report Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Angola 2020/21
On 2 June, SPI presented the report Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Angola 2020/21.
The event, held in Luanda, was attended by the Chairman of the Executive Committee of BFA, Dr. Luís Roberto Gonçalves, Professor Manuel Alves da Rocha, from CEIC-UCAN, and Professor Augusto Medina, from SPI, all of which were speakers at the event.
In addition to the above interventions, the results of the GEM Angola 2020/2021 (https://web2.spi.pt/GemAngola/publicacoes_page.php) study were presented and a panel discussion was held, dedicated to the theme “Entrepreneurship in a post-pandemic context”, with the participation of Angolan entrepreneurs and actors of the entrepreneurship support ecosystem in Angola.
The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) is the largest study to evaluate the entrepreneurial dynamics in the world. Conducted annually, the 2020/2021 edition counted with the participation of 43 countries.
GEM Angola, in particular, is a benchmark assessment, which allows the identification of the status, characteristics and enabling factors of entrepreneurship in the country. It is a benchmarking exercise of international nature, which allows for the comparison of the level of entrepreneurship in Angola with that of other countries.
The implementation of GEM Angola 2020/21, as in previous years, resulted from a partnership between Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação (SPI) and Centro de Estudos e Investigação Científica da Universidade Católica de Angola (CEIC-UCAN), with the support of Banco de Fomento Angola (BFA).
