SPI presented the Joint Action Plan to Enhance the Blue Economy in Atlantic Areas at the Final event of the EMPORIA4KT that took place on the 25th January 2022
Funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, the EMPORIA4KT project aims to improve transnational cooperation and synergies between the triple helix players of academia, business and government, to foster innovation and competitiveness in support of the Blue Economy in the Atlantic Area. The project empowers researchers to transfer their knowledge outputs and innovations to different sectors. The ‘Blue Economy Technology Transfer Programme’ was implemented in France, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and the UK and the programme focused on developing routes to market for selected Blue Economy Early-Stage Technologies (EST), carried out by teams of researchers with the support of experienced technology transfer mentors and advisors.

In the event we could also hear how participants in Blue Economy Tech Transfer programme learned how to identify market opportunities and trends in the Blue Economy and create pathways to transfer innovation to policy, industry and society in the Atlantic Area. The event was attended by a representative from DG MARE, the Senior Expert in Maritime Policy Roberta Zobbi as a keynote speaker.
