SPI Represents the South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk at VDS+ Tech Event in Valencia
SPI, representing the South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk (LinkedIn), recently participated in the VDS+ tech event (LinkedIn) held at the astonishing Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias from October 23-24. SPI consultant Ivan Sá Vieira engaged with a diverse range of start-ups, primarily from Valencia and surrounding regions, while also connecting with interesting SMEs from the Netherlands, Greece, and Portugal. The event showcased an array of forward-thinking start-ups across sectors such as fintech, biotech, AI, HR, energy, composites, robotics and supply chain management, many of which had patented products or concepts. Several participants were already exploring or planning expansion into the South-East Asian market, with Singapore highlighted as a key entry point, followed by Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The VDS+ Tech event featured lively pitching sessions and interesting roundtable discussions, covering state-of-the-art topics and challenges faced by start-ups today. SPI’s role at VDS+ was to promote the European Commission’s support services for the security of the intellectual property of European companies outside of its borders, more specifically South-East Asia.
