SPI – Sociedade Portuguesa da Inovação at ENRICH in Africa’s Innovation Week in Dakar, Senegal

Funded by the European Union, under its Horizon 2020 programme, ENRICH in Africa (https://enrich-in-africa-project.eu) is a project designed to bring together core stakeholders from Europe and Africa in order to support and strengthen the innovation ecosystem in both regions. SPI is part of a consortium of 12 organisations.

Dr. Sara Medina, in representation of SPI, attended the Innovation week that took place in Dakar, Senegal, starting on the 22nd to the 26th of May. It supported 15 to 20 foreign entrepreneurs and SME’s with the purpose of discovering the Senegalese Market. For that purpose, there were various activities planned throughout the week.

During the first two days, the Pullman Hotel hosted the most recent Partner Meeting of ENRICH in Africa. It was a great opportunity for all consortium partners to meet and discuss the project’s achievements and the next steps to be taken.

In addition, there was the opportunity to attend the AfricArena Dakar Summit (https://www.africarena.com/) from 24th to 25th of May, which included 30+ pitches from startups operating all across Africa in specific sectors. Other activities were carried out, such as the ASIP Accelerator Demo Day on the 25th, and the Open Innovation & Corporate VC Unconference from 26th to 28th of May.

We would like to thank all involved parties for promoting such a memorable experience!
