SPI – Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação at AtlantEco’s General Assembly in Cape Town, South Africa
The EU-funded AtlantECO (www.atlanteco.eu/) project aims to develop and apply a novel, unifying framework that provides knowledge-based resources for a better understanding and management of the Atlantic Ocean and its ecosystem services.
The project focuses on three pillars of research: microbiomes, plastic and the plastisphere, and seascape connectivity.
AtlantECO’s General Assembly (GA) took place between April 25th and April 29th in Cape Town, South Africa, and SPI were represented at the event through Caíque Neves. The GA was a great opportunity to share experiences regarding the project activities and have interesting scientific and policy discussions. Dynamic public events were also offered to the participants as well as the general public, of which the visit to the Tara research vessel is a prime example.
We would like to thank all involved parties for making this event a reality and are looking forward to another year of exciting collaboration!
