On the 6th to 8th of March 2023, SPI – Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação, as one of the implementing partners of the EURAXESS Worldwide initiative, participated in the EURAXESS WW 2023 Training event in Brussels, Belgium. Represented by Dr. Andréia Santos, SPI joined representatives from the Hubs Africa, Asean, Australia/New Zealand, China, India, Japan, Korea, North America and Latin America and Caribbean, and members of the consortium leader Pracsis, in addition to members of the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (RTD) and the European Research Council (ERC).
The event was highly successful, with a wide range of topics discussed, and new ideas and best practices exchanged. The specific objectives of the Training event included: updating on EC policies, improving the mandate of EURAXESS WW and its instruments, providing a comprehensive approach on the European Research Area and Horizon Europe initiatives, providing skills training on Horizon Europe focusing on the opportunities under Pillar 2, proposing knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices between the different Hubs, and providing team building activities to identify the needs and strengths of each Hub.
EURAXESS Worldwide is an invaluable platform for talented researchers to explore and develop careers in Europe. It also provides insights into European research policy, funding programmes and opportunities, and the possibility to find partnerships and meet other researchers.
SPI was pleased with the outcome of the event and looks forward to further collaboration with the EURAXESS Worldwide initiative.
