Raquel Silva and Ricardo Oliveira recently participated in the AtlantECO General Assembly, which took place from October 3rd to 9th in Florianopolis, Brazil. AtlantECO is a Horizon 2020 project initiated in 2020 and set to continue until 2025.

SPI, a consortium member of ENRICH in LAC, participated in the week-long Innovation Tour in Brazil from September 25th to 29th. SPI, was represented by Consultants Igor Lopes and Ivan Sá Vieira, and actively participated in all activities, including the “Internationalisation Session for SMEs”

As a GeneBEcon consortium member, SPI participated in the GeneBEcon Consortium Meeting from October 4th to 5th, 2023 and was part of the organising team for the Science-Policy Symposium, which took place on 6th October, 2023.

The Portuguese Society for Innovation (SPI) organized, in collaboration with the other partners of the MAIA project, the 2nd Policy Roundtable of the project, titled ” Transborder Collaboration: Fostering knowledge exchange and innovation for climate adaptation action”. The event was part of the Side Events during the European Regions

SPI was present at Pollutec 2023 in Lyon, representing the Southeast Asia Intellectual Property (SEA IP) Helpdesk.

As a partner of the Regions4Climate (R4C) project, SPI attended the European Urban Resilience Forum (EURESFO), which took place at the Nova School of Business and Economics in Cascais, Portugal, from the 18th to the 20th of October, 2023. R4C was one of the co-organisers of this year’s 10th-anniversary edition that gathered resilience-makers, innovators, providers, and supporters to help shape a resilience transformation in Europe.

In a remarkable display of dedication to promoting intellectual property (IP) management in Southeast Asia, Andre Almeida from SPI, presented the Southeast Asia Intellectual Property (SEA IP) Helpdesk services at this year’s Alimentaria FoodTech event in Barcelona.

Douglas Thompson and Susana Seabra participated in the BIC Africa Ethiopia Boot Camp, held on the 19th and 20th of Sep 2023 in Bishoftu, Ethiopia.

Every electric or electronic product and battery not collected represents a missed opportunity. The materials in the WEEE that are not collected will not be available for manufacturing new products. New materials may have to be mined instead, which is a lot more damaging for biodiversity and the environment at large
