Driving Innovation in critical raw materials (CRM) recoverability - SPI at the FutuRaM Consortium Meeting

From June 24th to 25th, 2025, SPI attended the bi-annual consortium meeting of the FutuRaM project in Skellefteå, Sweden. This important gathering brought together project partners to review progress, align on upcoming milestones, and strengthen collaboration toward shared goals.

FutuRaM is an ambitious EU-funded initiative focused on mapping and understanding the availability and recoverability of secondary raw materials (2RMs) in Europe, with a strong focus on critical raw materials (CRMs). By developing an integrated data platform, the project aims to support evidence-based decisions that drive the sustainable recovery and use of these valuable resources within the EU and beyond.

As the leader of WP7 – Communication, Dissemination & Exploitation, SPI is committed to ensuring that the project’s outcomes are translated into real-world applications. This includes fostering uptake by policymakers, industry stakeholders, and researchers to maximise FutuRaM’s long-term impact.

Being part of FutuRaM allows SPI to contribute to European efforts on unlocking the potential of urban mines, advancing sustainable resource management, and promoting innovative approaches to raw material recovery.
