SPI Participates IMPACTING Kick-Off Meeting in Nairobi, Kenya
From 22 to 24 September 2025, SPI participated in the official Kick-Off Meeting of the IMPACTING consortium, hosted by icipe in Nairobi, Kenya, in a hybrid format. SPI was represented on-site by André Almeida and Tiara Amadea.
As leader of Work Package 8 – Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation, SPI underlined to all partners the importance of effective internal communication from the very outset of the project, encouraging the proactive sharing of information on ongoing work and participation in events to enhance overall project visibility. SPI also prepared partners to view sustainability and exploitation as central to the project’s long-term success, with a strong focus on strategies to maximise its impact. In this context, SPI presented the forthcoming tasks and activities under this Work Package, inviting partners to actively share their planned involvement in events, webinars, workshops, training sessions, and community engagement initiatives. To further support the visibility and communication of the Kick-Off Meeting, SPI also designed and prepared the project flyer, banner, roll-up banner, and agenda.
The three-day meeting brought together consortium partners, members of the Advisory Board, and key stakeholders from Africa and Europe. Discussions covered a wide range of topics, including project management and coordination, data sharing, ethics, communication, finance, and procurement. In addition, all work packages were presented in detail, complemented by dedicated training activities. The meeting concluded with constructive feedback from the External Advisory Board, providing valuable input to guide the next steps of the project.
