SPI proudly participated in the Dublin Tech Summit 2025, held from 28–29 May in Dublin, Ireland, as part of its ongoing work with the South-East Asia (SEA) IP SME Helpdesk initiative. Represented by Tiago Marques, SPI joined over 8,000 tech leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs at one of Europe’s fastest-growing B2B tech events, with the goal of promoting the importance of intellectual property (IP) protection for European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) engaging with Southeast Asian markets.
The SEA IP SME Helpdesk is an EU-funded initiative that offers free, first-line IP support to EU SMEs operating or planning to expand into ASEAN countries. Through expert resources, tailored training sessions, and confidential advisory services, the Helpdesk helps businesses navigate the complexities of IP law, manage risk, and safeguard their innovations across diverse regulatory frameworks.
At the Dublin Tech Summit, SPI actively engaged with European SMEs, start-ups, and business networks to present the Helpdesk’s services and raise awareness of IP-related risks and solutions. Key topics discussed included trademark registration, patent protection, counterfeit prevention, and IP strategies aligned with internationalisation goals. Attendees received access to practical tools and digital resources that can be freely accessed via the Helpdesk’s online platform.
SPI’s participation at this leading tech event underscores its commitment to supporting EU businesses through strategic IP knowledge sharing and fostering international collaboration. As global tech and innovation ecosystems become increasingly interconnected, initiatives like the SEA IP SME Helpdesk play a crucial role in helping SMEs protect and grow their ideas in new markets.
